Back on Track would like to thank Christina Coxe, Executive Director of Equi-librium.org, a regional PATH affiliate located in Nazareth, PA for hosting and inviting Jim Ruder CEO of Back on Track to a discussion on Helmet Safety and the need for the equine industry to take meaningful steps in addressing and managing safety protocols around concussion management. Christina was very helpful in simplifying a complex issue and bringing to the forefront this very important issue. Statistics from the Journal of Neurosurgery from 2016 stated that equestrian sports contributed to 45.2% of all sports-related TBI’s. This statistic shows the importance of Christina's presentation, and Back on Track looks forward to learning more and working with Christina to effectuate positive change in how concussion protocols in equestrian sports can better be managed.
